WHO HAS THE BEST MEAT?

BRING YOUR BEST BBQ AND COMPETE FOR BRAGGING RIGHTS!
Each team will provide tasting samples in exchange for tickets. Please plan to offer a minimum of 100–150 samples. Tickets may be redeemed for individual samples, or guests may use 7 tickets for a full plate—it’s your choice!

2026 BBQ COOK-OFF TEAM RULES (UPDATED)

Cook Team set up: (for cook teams and volunteers only)
Friday, May 1st starting at 12pm

Teams must provide their own tents, tables, cooking equipment, and supplies.
A team name is required. The gate opening is 12' wide; please make sure you will be able to fit through the space.
Cooking Requirements and Food Safety:

All food must be prepared on‑site the day of the event. No pre‑cooked meats allowed (seasoning/marinating beforehand is fine)
Teams must follow basic food safety practices (handwashing, gloves, proper meat temperatures). Propane, charcoal, pellet, or wood smokers/grills are allowed. No open fires outside designated cooking areas. Teams are responsible for managing their own fire safety (extinguisher required).
Cook Team Turn-in: (for community and guest)
Saturday, May 2nd starting at 12pm

Categories for entry:
Brisket, Ribs, Pork, Chicken, Beans, and Deserts
(Optional sides not judged - potato salad, slaw, corn, mac & cheese)

Turn-in Rules:
  • Use provided containers (Committee Chair will provide)
  • Minimum 3 bites per judge
  • Judged on taste, tenderness, appearance.
  • Late entries NOT accepted

Turn-in Schedule (STRICT) turn in times are final:
  • 1st deserts - 12:00-12:15pm
  • 2nd beans - 12:15-12:30pm
  • 3rd chicken - 12:30-12:45pm
  • 4th ribs - 12:45-1:00pm
  • 5th pork - 1:00-1:15pm
  • 6th brisket - 1:15-1:30pm
 
Judging: 
Times: 11:15am check-in / 11:30am meeting / Ends ~1:50pm
Winners will be announced at 2:00pm. 
Judges' decisions are final.

Public Serving Rules:
Teams may ONLY serve a category AFTER it has been turned in.

Awards:
Awards include Trophy, gift card and bragging rights and only 1 winner will be announced (no ties)

People's Choice Award
(Award $250 cash prize)

  • Best Beans ($25 gift card)
  • Best Ribs ($50 gift card)
  • Best Pork ($50 gift card)
  • Best Chicken ($50 gift card)
  • Best Brisket ($100 gift card)
